Lewis C. Powell is a seasoned business strategist and advisor with more than 30 years of experience spanning telecommunications engineering, federal government contracting, business operations, insurance, staffing, and small-business development. His career reflects a rare blend of technical expertise, executive leadership, and a systems-driven approach to helping organizations operate with clarity, structure, and confidence.
Lewis began his career in telecommunications engineering, rising from an 18-year-old technician to Network Engineering Manager at Wireless Matrix (formerly NORCOM Networks). In that role, he led engineering teams responsible for the design and deployment of satellite and terrestrial communication technologies supporting the trucking, rail, maritime, defense, and government sectors.
His technical and leadership capabilities led to collaborations with major organizations, including COMSAT, MCI, Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company, the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), the Saudi Arabian Government, and regional economic development agencies. These experiences strengthened Lewis’s ability to solve complex problems, build systems, and think with precision.

Lewis previously owned and operated Antiok Holdings Inc., a federal prime government contractor that supported major federal agencies—including the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for more than 20 years. This experience gave him a deep, firsthand understanding of federal acquisition, pricing, compliance, contract performance, and operational capacity-building.
A Property & Casualty Insurance Agency (Past Owner)…
Lewis previously owned and operated a personal lines property and casualty insurance agency called Shiklay Inc. that specialized in homeowners and other personal insurance coverages. Under his leadership, the agency grew to become one of the largest providers of homeowners’ insurance in the Washington, D.C. area and was successfully sold to a private equity firm in 1997.
A Staffing and Workforce Solutions Company (Current Owner & Operator)
Lewis currently owns and operates Ready Temps USA, a staffing and workforce solutions firm serving clients in higher education, hospitality, local government, and commercial industries. His work in staffing has given him extensive experience in workforce management, payroll operations, compliance, onboarding infrastructure, and service delivery systems.
In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Lewis serves as a Business Financial Consultant at Prince George’s Community College’s Financial Empowerment Center, where he advises founders, teaches workshops, and supports organizations focused on entrepreneurship and workforce development.
